How to handle Halloween candy 🎃🍬

Hi, Cleanish Squad!

Click here to listen to this email (I share my favorite Halloween candy).

Before I dive in, I want to make a shameless plug to add any questions you may have to this link for our next Q&A. Please and thank you 🙂

Most of us know candy is generally unhealthy, but there are certain times of the year — like (cough) Halloween — when candy is almost unavoidable.

Here’s how I approach Halloween Candy:

1. Wait To Buy It. Yes, last-minute Halloween candy costs a little more, but we all know how easy it is to go through a few bags before Halloween.

2. Plan For Eating Some. Eating it as a planned part of dessert rather than randomly and sporadically will help you enjoy it and then move on. You could even plan them into your macros, which I've done before.

3. Prioritize Your Faves. The best candy choice is the one you can eat and enjoy in moderation and then move on. If you’re craving candy, think about which type you crave most rather than grabbing whatever is in the random candy jar. If you’re going to have some, make it worth it. I talk more about this concept in my video on how I eat at Disneyland.

Not all candy is equally unhealthy. Healthier candy options generally contain fewer artificial flavors and colors and have nuts for added protein and healthier fats.

So, if you love Snickers, Peanut M&Ms, or Reeses Reese's and can grab just one and stop, you’re all set. You can also choose one of the "better" candy brands listed in my Instagram share above.

  • Portable Standing Desk → Now that we're traveling full time in the RV, I needed a way to stand while working so I wouldn't sit so much. Besides other health benefits of standing, sitting for too long causes me a lot of back pain. I have been testing out this portable standing desk for the past several weeks, and it fits exactly what I needed -- it's compact, can easily be stashed away, and allows me to use an external keyboard and mouse, which was a big bonus. It's shaped like a tripod, which works well to save space -- something we need in the RV! Get more info.

Hi, Cleanish Squad! Click here to listen to this email (I share more than just what's written!) The winter holidays are just around the corner! Can you feel it? I sure can—and my kids are beyond excited, too. I absolutely love this time of year—the traditions, the gatherings, and yes, the food. Let’s be real -- the food is definitely a highlight for me! This year will look a bit different as we celebrate on the road in the RV. But as much as I love it all, I know how overwhelming this season...

Hi Cleanish Squad! Let’s be real—weeknights can feel like a whirlwind. Between work, errands, practices, and everything else on your plate, finding time to make a healthy dinner can seem impossible. But trust me, eating clean doesn’t have to mean spending hours in the kitchen or creating a mountain of dishes. Yes, meal prep can help solve this, but there are those times when we haven't prepped anything at all. To help, I’ve collected a go-to list of quick, delicious meals that are perfect for...

Hi, Cleanish Squad! Click here to listen to this email! I haven't always been a morning person. I used to sleep in every chance I could, squeezing out those extra moments of lounging in bed instead of jumping up to face the day. Back then, mornings felt like a chore—something to get through until I could truly start living once the coffee kicked in. But over time, I realized something had to change. Sleeping in might have felt better at the moment, but it left me starting the day behind,...
