Hey, Cleanish Squad!
I accidentally hit send on last week’s email while I was scheduling it, so it went out earlier than planned.
If you’re thinking, “Didn’t I just hear from you?” -- you’re not wrong. Friday’s email was an accidental bonus.
I’ll be honest…I almost cried when I realized what I’d done. Then I remembered I’m in perimenopause, and suddenly it made a lot more sense.
Since we’re already here, I figured I’d share something I posted on Instagram recently that sparked a lot of conversation…
After losing 50+ pounds five different times in my life, there are a few things I’ve become pretty certain about when it comes to weight loss.
Not because I’ve done everything perfectly -- but because I’ve done a lot of things wrong along the way and had to figure out what actually works in real life.
Fortunately, I now get to help other women avoid a lot of those same mistakes.
Here are a few of them:
Most diets fail because they weren’t built for real life.
Walking is one of the most powerful fat-loss tools.
Strength training becomes more important as we get older, not less.
Movement doesn’t need to be extreme to work -- it needs to be consistent.
An extra hour of sleep beats one more workout.
You can’t out-exercise chronic stress.
There’s never a perfect time to lose weight.
A perfect week or an awful week doesn’t change your life.
The goal isn’t perfection. It’s building habits you can actually live with.
You don’t need to suffer to see results.
For years, I thought weight loss had to feel miserable to work. I was wrong.
Real progress usually looks much simpler: balanced meals, daily movement, good sleep, and the patience to let those habits compound over time.
