Cut This, Feel Better

Hey there, Cleanish Squad! 🌸

Listen to the audio version of this email here!

I'm really excited to announce that I am writing a new cookbook! It's hard to believe it's already been five years since I published my last cookbook, but here we go again!

We are at the very early stages of this new cookbook, but I wanted you to be the first to know once I made the decision. It will focus on high-protein meal prep and should be available in late 2025 or early 2026.

I want to chat with you about something that changed my life—and I know it can change yours, too. Cutting out processed foods. I know, I know… the idea can sound intimidating. But trust me, it’s not about perfection or giving up everything you love. It’s about feeling better, having more energy, and finally kicking those cravings that seem to come out of nowhere -- especially this time of year! 👎

So, what really happens when you swap out the processed stuff for real, whole foods? Let me walk you through it—because the benefits are seriously too good to ignore.

Your Focus Will Get a Major Boost 🧠

Ever get hit with brain fog? Processed foods loaded with sugar and junk can leave you riding an energy rollercoaster—up one minute, crashing the next. Once I cut back on the processed stuff, my focus improved big time! No more sugar crashes, just steady energy all day.

Need help spotting sneaky sugars? I’ve got you covered with my post: 6 Ways to Spot Hidden Sugars.

Those Nagging Headaches Might Disappear 🤯

Here’s a fun surprise: One of the first things I noticed when I cleaned up my food was fewer headaches. Crazy, right? After replacing salty snacks with fruits and veggies, I felt a major difference. It turns out that a lot of those headaches came from preservatives and sodium packed into processed foods. Who knew?

Bye-Bye Bloating 👋

If you’ve ever felt like a human balloon after eating certain foods, you’re not alone. Processed foods are packed with sodium, which makes your body hold onto water. Once I started eating real foods and staying hydrated, that bloating was gone. And wow, I felt a lot more comfortable.

You’ll Be in a Better Mood 😍

Mood swings? I used to feel like a total mess. Processed foods can mess with your emotions—making you feel down and disconnected. But once I started feeding my body with whole foods, my mind cleared up, and my moods evened out. It’s amazing how much your food choices affect your mental health.

Your Sleep Will Get SO Much Better 💤

Who knew that sugar and carbs could mess with your sleep? I didn’t, but now I’m a believer. Once I cut back on the processed stuff, I started sleeping so much better. No more tossing and turning. And here’s a bonus: When you sleep better, you naturally crave less junk the next day.

Say Hello to Happy Digestion 🌿

Processed foods are low in fiber, and we all know how important fiber is for keeping things moving. Once I upped my fiber intake, my digestion improved. Whole foods nourish your gut and keep everything on track.

Clearer Skin, Anyone? ✨

This one was so easy to see. All I have to do to break out is eat some junk food. The more I stuck with whole foods, the clearer my skin got—and the better I felt in my own skin, too.

No More Wild Cravings 🤯

Ever feel like once you start with one chip, the whole bag just disappears? I’ve been there. Processed foods are designed to keep us craving more and more. But here’s the magic: When you eat whole foods, those cravings get quieter… and eventually, they might even disappear. And trust me, it feels so good.

You Might Not Even Want Processed Foods Anymore 🤔

This one blew my mind. I never thought I’d be the person who says no to a box of cookies, but here I am! After sticking with real food for a while, I started noticing that processed foods didn’t even appeal to me. And when I did have a bite, they just didn’t taste the same. You might find the same thing happens to you—and it feels amazing.

Your Tastebuds Will Evolve 🎉

The longer you stick with whole foods, the more your tastebuds will change. Suddenly, things you used to love might feel way too sweet or salty. For me, it was candy and candy bars—one bite, and I was like, “Whoa, this tastes super fake and way too sweet.” It’s wild how quickly your body adapts to enjoying simpler, real flavors.

You Deserve to Feel Amazing 💕

Cutting back on processed foods isn’t about being perfect or giving up the foods you love. It’s about giving yourself the chance to feel your absolute best. If you’ve been thinking about making a change, I say go for it! Start small, take it one day at a time, and give yourself grace along the way.

If you try it, I’d love to hear what changes you notice! Hit reply to this email and tell me all about it—I’m cheering you on every step of the way.

Here’s to feeling good, eating well, and loving the journey.

Hi, Cleanish Squad! Click here to listen to this email (I share more than just what's written!) The winter holidays are just around the corner! Can you feel it? I sure can—and my kids are beyond excited, too. I absolutely love this time of year—the traditions, the gatherings, and yes, the food. Let’s be real -- the food is definitely a highlight for me! Hi Cleanish Squad! Let’s be real—weeknights can feel like a whirlwind. Between work, errands, practices, and everything else on your plate, finding time to make a healthy dinner can seem impossible. But trust me, eating clean doesn’t have to mean spending hours in the kitchen or creating a mountain of dishes. Yes, meal prep can help solve this, but there are those times when we haven't prepped anything at all. To help, I’ve collected a go-to list of quick, delicious meals that are perfect for...

Hi, Cleanish Squad! Click here to listen to this email! I haven't always been a morning person. I used to sleep in every chance I could, squeezing out those extra moments of lounging in bed instead of jumping up to face the day. Back then, mornings felt like a chore—something to get through until I could truly start living once the coffee kicked in. But over time, I realized something had to change. Sleeping in might have felt better at the moment, but it left me starting the day behind,...
