A quick note on the holiday


Hey there!

As we near the holiday tomorrow, I wanted to check in and see how everything is going with you.

While I love a good holiday, it can take a toll on your consistency and progress. Holidays can especially be hard when you aim to lose weight and eat cleaner. There seem to be endless opportunities to splurge and “enjoy your time,” which can lead to disappointment and regret if you’re not careful.

But it doesn’t have to be an “either-or” situation.

It’s possible to enjoy your healthy lifestyle, stay on track for your goals AND still enjoy the holiday. The cleanish lifestyle is one you enjoy AND feel good about. So, if I’m not able to do one or both of those end goals, then something needs to change.

This week, instead of approaching the 4th with fear and anxiety 😱 try approaching it with more of moderation approach…enjoy the food within moderation, don’t go overboard, and then move on with your life just as you were.

Focus on high-protein, less-processed foods for most of your day, with one or two other non-normal foods if you’d like. Have a plan, but also enjoy it.

One trick I use is to enjoy a quick Cleanish protein shake before heading to a party where there will be food. I just mix the plant-based protein with water and I’m good to go. That way, I start off feeling full and satisfied, and it is so much easier for me not to snack on goodies I wouldn’t normally eat.

It’s so much better to have small treats here and there rather than going overboard because you’re too hungry and don’t have a plan. I want you to maintain your progress and avoid falling completely off track, and giving up entirely.

The goal here is to be the person who can do this now and then, but who jumps back on track afterwards because that’s what they love about themselves and enjoy anyways, not because it’s a chore or because they were “bad.”

After all, it’s about the lifestyle, and that starts with making one choice after the next that aligns with the person you want to be. 💕
