The New Year is here, and with it comes a fresh start—a chance to set goals, make new commitments, and focus on what matters most.

But let me be honest... my health journey hasn’t always been easy. For years, I struggled with my weight, feeling trapped in a cycle of diets that left me frustrated and stuck.

I remember looking in the mirror and feeling defeated, convinced I’d never feel comfortable in my own skin. I tried every diet imaginable—counting calories to the extreme, cutting carbs, Weight Watchers, the Cabbage Soup Diet—but nothing ever felt sustainable.

The turning point came when I stopped chasing perfection and started focusing on progress.

I realized that constantly restricting myself left me miserable. I was either obsessing over every calorie or giving up entirely. So, I made a shift. I quit focusing on eating as little as possible and instead learned how to nourish my body with real, whole foods.

I quit refined sugar and processed foods—not because I had to—but because I saw how much better I felt when I fueled my body with healthy, balanced meals. I began to notice the ingredients in my food and then swapped out processed junk for delicious, satisfying meals made from simple ingredients. And I didn’t give up the foods I loved—I found healthier versions that were just as enjoyable.

I also worked on changing my mindset. Instead of beating myself up over a missed workout or an imperfect meal, I focused on consistency. One healthy choice at a time. One small win after another. That shift made all the difference.

It wasn’t about being perfect. It was about being better than yesterday.
